📌 How to post ideas: one idea per thread, the point in the first sentence

This is the most important section of the forum. Almost no jokes.

You don’t have the game in your hands yet. Which makes right now the only time your idea costs us little and gives the game a lot. After release, every rework is a patch, a scandal and three offended squads. Before release, it’s just another Tuesday.

The rules:

  • One idea per thread. We’ll read ten ideas in one post, but the discussion drowns by the second one.
  • The point goes in the first sentence. What to do. After that, as much detail as you like: why, where it hurts, where you’ve seen something similar.
  • Every idea gets an answer: one of the four below. We’re a small team, so not always the same day.

A template you can copy:

Idea: one sentence on what to do.
Why: what problem it solves, in what situation it hurts.
Seen it in: which game had something similar and how it worked (if any).

How we answer:

  • Already in — and where to see it.
  • Planned — it’s on the to-do list. A to-do list is not a promise.
  • Thinking about it — good idea, but we don’t know yet how to build it without breaking something.
  • No — and why. No “thank you for your feedback.”

Here’s an example using one of our own ideas, so nothing’s made up:

The flashlight should give the player away not just to people, but to the AI too.

Already in. Bandits and the infected see you from farther away when you’re lit. Turn on your flashlight at night and you get spotted from a distance. More in the devlog entry “At night the AI sees like you do.”

Now and then the Hub Dispatcher chimes in. That’s the game’s in-world voice, written by the same developer.

Your turn.

Hub Dispatcher, for the record.

The first sentence ends at the first period. A semicolon is not a loophole. Neither is a colon. A comma-separated list half a screen long is not a sentence. It’s a backpack that won’t close.

Details start with the second sentence. There’s all the room you want there.
