Extraction in a dead city. Seen from above. No second chances.

You go into the Zone for loot. You come out with loot. Or you don’t — and then your loot comes out with somebody else. Every meal makes the virus smarter. So don’t feed it.

Wishlisting is free. It won’t make the zombies smarter. Probably.

Prologue · “Feeding time”

The virus learns

Frame 1 / 6

  1. The city at dusk, before the fall

They were slow once. Blind. Almost harmless. The city lived as before: shop windows glowed, people walked home and complained about prices.

  2. Quarantine zone gates under searchlights

We built the Zones. Walls, searchlights, towers. We herded them inside and decided we had it handled. Classic.

  3. A woman and a child at the wire fence

Then we started bringing food to the wire. Because behind it stood our fathers, our sisters, our sons. Try not feeding them.

  4. A pile of food under a “Do not feed the infected” sign

Every fence had a “Do not feed the infected” sign. Nobody read it. Every feeding taught the thing inside them something new.

  5. The city on fire at night

The Zones fell in a single night. All of them. At once. A lesson learned is the scariest kind.

  6. Survivors walking toward a city green with infection

Now people go into the Zone for loot. Some go for food and ammo. Others go for those who carry food and ammo. And the third kind… you get it.

Chapter 1 · “Rules”

Rules of the Zone

  1. Do not feed the zombie.
  2. DO NOT FEED THE ZOMBIE. Seriously, that was rule one.
  3. Whoever yells “I’ve got no loot” has loot.
  4. A fire cooks meat and gives you away. Decide what matters more.
  5. Bottles ring. The infected follow the ring. Use it.
  6. Searching a corpse takes time. The corpse is in no hurry. Its friends are.
  7. You are not the contents of your backpack.
  8. If this is your first raid, you go on the raid.
Only after you’ve lost all your loot are you truly free. Free to raid with a knife and a bandage.
— someone in a stash, 3 a.m.

Chapter 3 · “Home”

The Hub: where everyone is

Raids are trips. You live in the hub: one big server with every player on it at once. Your stash, your people, your enemies. You leave for the Zone from here and come back here with loot. Or you don’t.

One world for everyone

The hub has no rooms or lobbies. Whoever is logged in is right there next to you. Make deals, trade, argue over voice or just stand by the fire.

The stash

Your base. Whatever sits in the stash stays: not after a death in a raid, not after a server restart. The backpack you take with you is another story.

Squad and radio

Gather people in the hub and board the Guide’s car together. In the raid, keep in touch over the radio: only your channel hears you.

Leaving safely

In the hub you can quit in peace: ten seconds without taking damage and your character leaves with their gear. In a raid there is no such thing.

Pack the backpack

The stash is open, the Guide is starting the car. Pack the essentials in 40 seconds. Whatever doesn’t fit stays home.

40 seconds Packed: 0%

Drag an item into the grid. Right-click to rotate.

Chapter 4 · “Meat”

What waits in the Zone

Die, hand out loot

One raid, one life. Everything you bring belongs to someone from the first second — the only question is who. No respawn saves your backpack. No mom comes to pick it up either.

Diedyour AK is in someone else’s hands now. Very happy hands, probably
Got outyou reached extraction — the loot is yours. Be proud for about three minutes

Bandages don’t tear themselves

No magic menus. Want a bandage — tear a rag. Want to shoot — load the magazine. Round. By. Round. And someone is breathing behind the door.

The Zone can hear you

Mutants hunt by sound: your sprint across gravel is a doorbell. Bandits move in squads and shout your position to each other. A fire cooks meat. And gives you away.

We can hear you breathe

Voice works by distance, radio by channel. You can negotiate. You can yell “I’ve got no loot”. You can stay quiet and wait for him to turn his back.

Cheater, we see you

The server decides: hits, items, who sees what. It simply never sends you enemies behind walls — your wallhack will show you a wall. A nice one. Pixelated. Enjoy.

Chapter 5 · “Exit”

How a raid works

  1. 1

    Hub

Stash, squad, one last smoke. The only place nobody shoots at you. Don’t get used to it.

  2. 2

    The Guide

Five seconds by the Guide’s car with your squad. Don’t move. Don’t even scratch. Off you go.

  3. 3

    The Zone

Everything that moves here wants to eat you, rob you, or both at once.

  4. 4

    Extraction

Reach an exit point and the loot is yours. You can breathe out. For about three seconds.

Press R to restart. …Kidding. It doesn’t work like that here: everything you had stays on your body in the Zone.

Raid simulator

No time to play? Go on a raid right here. The outcome is as random as in real life.

Chapter 6 · “Loot”

The Zone Crate

A free crate. No 2.49$ keys. Honest odds*.

Graphics

Clips straight from the engine

The game can now record scripted scenes itself: camera, fights, doors — frame by frame, no stutter, no screen capture. First clip: a fight at a door.

Gameplay

Hiding in the bushes

Freeze or sneak with your light off inside a dense bush and nobody spots you until they are close. Diving into a bush under fire won’t make you vanish.

Graphics

Roofs, canopies and windows

Tree canopies open up above you, and light inside houses comes only through windows and doors — the same for your eyes and for the AI.

Server

Walls are no longer see-through for cheats

The server no longer sends an enemy’s position when a solid wall or a closed door stands between you. A hacked client can’t show what it never received.

Reviews

What they say in the Zone

The game isn’t out yet, so for now the locals are writing reviews. All characters are fictional, and so are their hours.

Infected #71,247 hrs on record (mostly at the fence)

Recommended

For three years they fed me through the fence. Then the fence fell, and the food started running away. Had to learn to open doors. Now I open them with my shoulder. 10/10.

Bandit by the fire36 hrs on record

Recommended

Someone was grilling meat three blocks away. Found him by the smell. The meat was great. So was his loot.

The Guide∞ hrs on record

Recommended

My job: stand by the car for five seconds. Five. Without moving. Every other guy manages to jump, scratch and walk off in that time. Then asks why he didn’t leave.

“Full City” courier0.3 hrs on record

Not recommended

Was delivering an order to the Zone. Got bitten. Asked them not to feed me, they fed me anyway. Now I’m a zombie too, and the order was never delivered. Minus one star.

Mom from the stash2 hrs on record (watched over his shoulder)

Recommended

My son took everything on the raid, including my colander. Came back without it but with an AK. Good trade.

Extraction camper412 hrs on record (in one bush)

Not recommended

412 hours in a bush by the extraction. The bush hides you perfectly as long as you stay quiet. Fired once — and everyone instantly knew where I was. I demand a bush that also hides shooters.

FAQ

Questions

When does it come out?

When it’s ready. We’ll announce the date. Wishlist the game and Steam will tell you before we get the chance to brag.

How much will it cost?

Nothing yet — you can’t buy it yet. The price comes with the release date.

What is the hub and how is it different from a raid?

The hub is the persistent world where every player is together: stash, squad, the Guide. A raid is a trip into the Zone from which you either return with loot or don’t.

What happens to my loot if I die?

It stays on your body. Somebody will be very happy. What sits in your stash in the hub is safe.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Meet in the hub and board the Guide’s car together. Voice and radio are built in — you can yell at each other in-game.

What about cheaters?

The server decides everything: hits, items, who sees what. We never send the client enemies behind walls, and every item is a database row with an audit trail: we can see where everything came from.

Can I not wishlist it?

You can. But the zombie will be sad. You don’t want to make the zombie sad, do you?

What is it built with?

Godot 4, with the server side in C++. Pixels are drawn by hand. Coming to Windows on Steam.

Don’t feed the zombie. Feed the wishlist.

You scrolled all the way down. That’s a relationship now. One click on Steam and you hear about the release first, and the game climbs in the store. The zombie is happy too, but we don’t tell him.
