Server in C++
Moving the server logic from GDScript to C++: faster, stricter, no gaps for cheaters.
The kitchen
An honest log of what we built, what we’re fixing and what comes next.
Plans change. This is a to-do list, not a promise.

We audited the server and are tightening everything around signing in and keeping your loot safe.
planned
More people in one Zone — more reasons not to trust each other.
planned
Servers picked by ping, and maps big enough that reaching extraction becomes a trip.
planned
Traffic goes through Valve’s protected relay: no exposed IPs, encrypted.
testing
Recording gameplay straight from the engine — there will be something to watch here soon.
The game can now record scripted scenes itself: camera, fights, doors — frame by frame, no stutter, no screen capture. First clip: a fight at a door.
Freeze or sneak with your light off inside a dense bush and nobody spots you until they are close. Diving into a bush under fire won’t make you vanish.
Tree canopies open up above you, and light inside houses comes only through windows and doors — the same for your eyes and for the AI.
The server no longer sends an enemy’s position when a solid wall or a closed door stands between you. A hacked client can’t show what it never received.
A door leaf swings from a shove, bounces off the wall and hits whoever stands behind it. A running shoulder charge knocks it open, and the hinge creak carries into the next room.
How far bandits and the infected can see depends on how lit their target is: a flashlight gives you away, darkness hides you.
The first location got 2,118 objects: towers, tents, dumpsters, fallen trees. Rocks and barrels now collide by their silhouette instead of a box.
We removed the murky haze from daytime — you can see what is happening around you again.
An NPC body step is now almost three times faster. The big map runs hundreds of infected and bandits at once.
